MoonShadow
I must have been absent that day. I've tried "in the pot" swirl, "mantra swirl," "funnel swirls," "linear swirls"...they all come out looking the same...like a hot mess of ugly mixed color blobs... I'm doomed to be a swirl-less soap maker.

Jewls819
I'm with ya. The best swirl I ever made has brown lather.
GoodScents
We're always our own worst critic, I'm sure they are still very pretty! I'm still very new to soap making, when I made my first batch I had watched so many videos where the person had made swirls and it looked pretty easy so I figured i'd try it. Well, my soap was already at a medium trace and the FO accelerated but I had no idea what that looked like. I poured my base color in, then tried to put the second color in and it was so thick it just plopped on top. When my BF saw it he just said, 'what happened here? I guess you'll just have to cut this off so it will look right'. I thought it was kind of pretty.
Kitn
Less is more with swirling, don't over do the mixing of the colors, once or twice around the pot and then pour up and down the length of your log mold.
Candybee
My best swirls-- were my very first tries. I have been trying to duplicate them ever since. Seems I've lost my touch. There is a slight learning curve in the techniqui and I think Kitn says it best-- don't over do it. I did and I got soupy soap glops! IwantItgreen
from my experience, people don't give a hooey about swirls. All they care about is the scent first. I'm going to all solid colors, I've done swirls, but no one has ever commented on how nice it looks. They just care what it smells like.
