tlc
What is rebatch and why would you make/buy/use (or whatever) it?Does it make the soap better or more creative? Is it a special recipe?
JanetsCandles
Rebatching is pretty much when something screws up and you re make it to fix the problem. You'd rebatch M&P when the layers didn't stick together, or CP soap when something goes really wonky in the batch.
blacktieaffair
BINGO !!! That's exactly what happened in those pictures I just posted ! The first time I did the Vanilla Honey Oatmeal, the layers were SOOOOOO gorgeous , it looked so amazing....... til ya tried to move it !!! Then you had three pieces of soap instead of one lol so I "rebatched" it!
tlc
Oh, that makes sense now. I thought it was a different kind of soap mix. If you don't spritz the layers when you are pouring that makes them not "stick" together?
Pam W
Rebatch doesn't necessarily mean that you're fixing a screwed up batch. I'm on my 2nd order of CP GM Rebatch base from BB. I wanted to try something besides M&P but don't want to get into making soap from scratch. It's pricier than M&P but I sure like it - super rich, thick, creamy lather and I can add more goodies to it without losing lather. I haven't found a way to get ''creative'' with it because it comes out brown when it sets up but it did make a nice salt bar and DH is happy with the shave cream I made for him.http://www.brambleberry.com/Rebatch-Bases-C14.aspxhttp://www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/cold-process-soap/soap-queen-tv-presents-how-to-make-rebatch-soap-2/ Edited February 29, 2012 by Pam W

You are enabling an addict. The bad part about that too is BB is not that far from where I live (under 300 miles ).

The bad part about that too is BB is not that far from where I live (under 300 miles ).I'm sorry - just can't help myself!!I used one of the CP rebatch bars on my hair the other day -- OMG - the lather was amazing and there was no feeling of build-up like when I tried M&P as a shampoo bar. I'm looking for a way to cut down on the cost of shampoo cause my kid keeps using it for body wash.
