elitenaildesign
Tomorrow is my day off and Im finally going to make a batch of soap after being on a 2 year hiatus. I just realised I have no freezer paper or that foam stuff and dont really want to make a special trip to town. Is there an alternative? MissMori
I've heard of waxed paper being used. Make sure the wax is not the side against the soap. The wax will saponify and it will be very difficult to get the paper off the soap.
soycrazy
Plastic garbage bags will work too
MaggieMay
If you bake and use parchment paper thats what I use
Stella1952
I use parchment sometimes and plain ol' saran wrap other times. Garbage bags (NO imprinting!) and plastic sheeting (like builder's plastic that comes on rolls) work well, too. The heavier mil builder's plastic (I use it to line my goldfish pond, cover plants in the winter, etc.) can be washed off and reused if you feel like messing with it.Make sure the wax is not the side against the soap. The wax will saponify and it will be very difficult to get the paper off the soap. Hmmm... my waxed paper is waxed (food-grade paraffin) on both sides... I was not aware that paraffin would saponify... Maybe the wax melts or something during gel phase... The paper itself, though, is so thin, absorbs moisture and gets hard to deal with... It also gets kinda wrinkly, so if you don't like that look, might wanna pass on waxed paper... Edited August 25, 2011 by Stella1952

Kitn
I wouldn't use wax paper.A garbage bag will work or a silicone sheet pan liner.
