Anna
to my candles, what did I do wrong?I pour some container candles tonight, with J50,added fo,and liq dye at 180,stir for about four mins, pour at 150.this is same way I always do it.The candle after they sat up,they had spots on top, they look like they have a disease. The only thing I did differant,I melted the wax in a roaster, instead of a presto. Thanks,Anna
MaryinCary
Thats called "brainey" finish. I use j50 and get that if the wax cools too fast or if I pour too hot. I just zap the top with my heat gun and it goes away. HTH
AngelaVA
What Mary said is right. It doesn't affect the burn at all and none of my customers have ever noticed. I personally don't care enough to heatgun the tops. Too much work for something no one notices. It's like wetspots, just embrace it.
sudsnwicks
Yup, this is something only us candle makers notice. Consumers won't even realize it's an imperfection.
