Stephanie
Has anyone needed to increase the pour temp for 1343 in cold weather? And if not, at what temp are you pouring for mottles? I'm having a heck of a time with pinholes (still!) throughout the entire candle - on the top and inside, but not on the sides. So I'm either pouring too hot, or too fast. Help please! Scented
Mmmm I up my temp about 5 degrees and tend to warm the mold with a few seconds of the heat gun. Tends to help some. If the wax starts to fog over too soon (like when the wax hits the mold) I use the heat gun on the outside of the mold to warm it, melt the wax and release any hidden air bubbles. MaryinCary
I keep my temp about the same (180ish), but hit my molds with the heat gun for a few seconds before pouring.
Stephanie
I usually put my molds in the oven before pouring so they're warm. I just poured a batch of Red Clove at around 180 so we'll see how they turn out. I had been pouring as high as 200, thanks to what the supplier told me because I called about getting the pinholes. Thanks for the suggestions.
Soja
Dont' forget the tips from Donita and Candle Kitty (and the rest) about tapping the mold right after the pour to release bubbles. I use a wodden spoon and the heat gun.Tap Tap... Heat Gun.... Tap Tap..., etc.
