Lisasoaps
Weird or not so weird? I made M&P soaps w/ cotton candy fo and they turned brown. Dont know what supplier it was from though. I used it all up and tossed the bottle. I think I got it off the boards here. So , tell me, has anyone else had this issue? I just bought some from Candle science, waiting for it to arrive. I need to know if I should use stabalizer or not. Thank you:)
carol k
I've had that happen with cotton candy also. It's the vanilla content in the cc.
Lisasoaps
AH-HA so thats the culprit. There IS vanilla in it. Darn it. Thank you Carol.

Lisasoaps
AH POOP !!!What about strawberry? My strawberry jam from BC turned brown too. Is it just the strawberry jam or all strawberry fos?
bugtussle
It's vanilla!! Strawberry Jam has vanilla. All vanillas need van stabilizer. Carole
Lisasoaps
Hi Carol, I know any vanillas need stabalizer I just never thought that it was in cotton candy or strawberry. Strawberries and cream , yes, but plain strawberry. I just dont have the nose to tell that there is any tones of vanilla in some fragrances. Thanx
bugtussle
The only supplier site I know of that lists vanilla in fos is WSP. Take a look on their site. It gives you a good idea if the scent (from other sources) contains them. Sometimes I am surprised. Carole
TheWickedWick
Nature's Garden also lists vanilla/vanillin content as well.
mparadise
Cotton candy does that to me too but I do have good luck with it when I use stabilizer with it. I think the FO I have at home is from Alabaster if I remember correctly.
8-GRAN-ONES
i don't do mp...but candle science's cotton candy turns an off white soft soft beige color.. in cp..i can still swirl...and keep the colors pretty good..without VSand the scent sticks forever...
