samandkennasmom Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 Hi,This might be kinda dumb on my part...and I sure don't know everything there is to know about making candles, I've only been doing it for about 3 years...but this really bugs me when people say their candles are double or triple scented. I don't think there is such a thing. Am I missing something here? How can your candles be triple scented? joanncat18 Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 I heard that the standard at some point was 3% FO, so then people who were putting in 9% would call it triple scented because it had 3 times the FO in it. Candybee Posted November 4, 2009 Share Posted November 4, 2009 Its just a marketing ploy and both explanations given are still used by some candlemakers who claim they put 3 times as much scent in their candles as others. But waxes today hold more scent than they did in years past. So 'triple' scenting means nothing because most everyone puts the same amount of scent in that the wax will hold or a bit more.Old Virginia candle company came out with triple layered candles they called triple scented.
