HEHMOM
Is it true that if you put more than 1oz. of Fo in soy wax it will effect your scent throw? I've been using 1.5oz. just wondering if I'm wasting FO by putting to much in. I also use ECO 8 and CDN 12 wicks in ( 8 oz JJ's ) :undecided
topofmurrayhill
I depends on the FO. Each one is different. With some you could be wasting your money or getting a counterproductive result. Everyone has their style but that's over 8.5%, which is on the high side by my reckoning.
KMommy
Are you weighing your FO or strickly going by the 1oz? Some oils are heavier than others. I have always gone by percentage and tested usually starting with 5% - 7%. 7% is the max for the wax I use.
HEHMOM
Yes ! I weigh all my Fo's on a digital scale. Hit the tare button etc. I use between 1.25 and 1.5 oz . Depending on how strong oob is. Just happen to see on some other thread if you use over an 1oz. it will affect the scent throw . Wondered if there was some real truth to that. If so I would cut back. I'm very inpatient though I like to test burn after a couple days cure time. I find that some company's Fo's you can do that ,others you have to wait and wait. itsallgood20
It also depends on the manufacturer recommendations of those f.o.s. In particular, Millcreek suggests 1.5 per oz of wax but I've also found via testing that a couple of them requires less than that.
