Liability Insurance

Both Indie Beauty Network and The Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild offer product liability insurance with their memberships.

IBN is $545 yr including $1mm liability ins.

HSMG is $500 yr including $1mm liability ins.

HSMG requires any percentage of sales be from soap but also covers candles.

IBN covers any handcrafted item period.

I primarily sell candles but other handcrafted items also (including soap).

My insurance agent wants $875 yr @ $1mm coverage (I am in MD)

Any suggestions between IBN vs HSMG since I have never dealt with either?

Never even heard of IBN until tonight.

There is also http://www.craftcouncil.org/ they offer insurance too- and it seems as though someone quoted them for 350.00 minus membership ($50.00) but im not sure how old the thread is..they also said that you don't have to become a member of craftcouncil but they do have their perks...

I have never been a customer of any of these companies but - I believe in my research IBN and HSMG go through the same company??? So the only difference may be the perks

You probably already checked on this, but handcrafted does not always include items that are put directly on the skin so be sure "all handcrafted" included b&b products before making a decision.
