safaripat
I am out of my purple dye for my soaps. Where is the best place to get soap dyes that are deeper in color. The purple I had was light no matter how much I put in. Pat
Judy, USMC
I only work with wax so I'm no help on a soap dye source. But with all dyes Red + Blue = Purple. That should work until you get yours in. I'd start out with equal parts; you may have to adjust by adding more of one color to get the perfect shade you want. HTH

Barbara AL
I use TKB Trading's Grape Pop Mica for my Purple soaps I use about 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon per lb of oils.Barb
CareBear
with an opaque white base it's gonna be hard to get a dark color with most colorants.
Noodle
In MP I have found that mixing red and blue together results in a very ugly purple when using white base. I have tried this with many colorants too. To get a lovely shade of purple, I like to mix colorants in the pink family with blue. The purple comes out MUCH nicer than red and blue together. Also be sure to always go easy on the blue.

Candybee
When I first started making M&P I bought a liquid soap dye sampler kit from C&S. I got about a dozen 1 oz dyes in assorted colors. Their dyes are the FDA approved ones and last forever.I use the purple one and if I add more than 4 drops of the purple to 1 lb of soap base it gets very dark purple.
