Red 40 was (I haven't checked recently) verbotten in FOODS in Canada (there, last I checked, they are allowed to use Red Dye #2 which is illegal in foods here in the US).

Dunno if it still stands, or if there are implications for B&B or not.

Never mind - red 40 is now allowed in Canada (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/prodnatur/legislation/docs/nmi-imn_list1-eng.php)

But that may change - much of Europe has already banned it for consumption - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_40
