yanavp
Hello there,I need your help! I don;t want to spend 10 years experimenting with different kinds of wicks and was wondering any there are any specific rules about what type to use for different kind of candles.I am trying to find the right wick for both soy and parafin wax candles. I am using hemp wick and it's ok, but wonder if there any rule for using different types of wicks. Help!
Georgia
no rules - it is personal preference...ask 10 people, they will tell you 10 different wicks that are "best". Get some sample packs and pick the ones you think are best
PamR
I agree, everyone has their favorite wicks. I use a soy/paraffin blend for containers & paraffin novelty candles. I use mostly the cd wicks. For votives I use the lx wicks.Pam R
SatinDucky
Some are designed for a specific use, however it's not a steadfast rule that's what it must be used for. This explains about different wicks and some uses...http://www.candlewic.com/candle-wicks/pop-spools.aspAdded: It wont take quite 10 yrs to figure out which you need. There's no way around testing them to find out which burn right for you and your formula. That's just a fact of life in candle making.
