  1. Beautiful candles, is it your product? I also noticed that the box is beautiful and noone can offer me the same one for that 3.5" or 6" tall canles. I just went to Saks and looked what they sell "on sale", they look horrible without box and poorely poored. The other kind with boxes at $18 were nice palm wax candles with satin inside and some ribbons around.....but after all, the wholesale is probably $8-9 for these...how can they budget $3 for the packaing....?
  2. Thank you for all your replies. I agree it's all about target market. IF I sell them at the state fair, that would be a different story, but if I sell them at some upscale reatailer, that would be different and Yankee candle packaging probably won't work in there....
  3. Tons of websites...anything from koolprints.com to retailpackaging.com...I checked at least 30 websites..
  4. Thank you! What I can find is that all of the offered packaging is way shorter than 6" and it goes as deep as 3"..so in my case when candles are 3"-6" tall it's really hard to find anything close. Also, if I get the boxes they offer then the candles would have to have some inserts in the box, to hold them ...another headache...and not too many offer inserts ...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!  :embarasse
  5. Forgot to ask...what percent of the retail price should packaging be?
  6. Thank you all, Glow,,,, you said you spent this amount for packaging...how many candles are you talking about? Most of the places start from 1000. I want to start with 500 and go up each month. Most prices I get are anything from $3-5 for 500 and goes down to $2.8 for 1000. It's hard to decide ...either spend $4 for high end premium box ...(which is insane I think) or go with the regular collaps. type of 1 piece colored box with logo and stamping, etc...
  7. Hello, I am just wondering, how important the packaging is and how does it affect the price? I am looking for a perfect reatil packaging soultions for my candles and the cheap one piece box would cost me around $1.20 ( with all design, etc) and 2 piece nice box with inserts goes as high at $4!!!! Now I am wondering...how really important the packaging in candle business!? Thank you!!!
  8. Couldn't find anything there... I am looking for probably 2 piece 4X4 box now with some velvet type inserts...
  9. Thank you , I will try these. I just see that many companies have such nice packaging and what most of the websites offer is way below what you see in the stores...
  10. Hello, does anyone know any affordable candle packaging soultions? Like 2 piece premium box type? ANy good sources? (besides top google ones..like usbox, etc...?) Thanks!!!
  11. Hello, I am looking for some affordable retail packaging for my 3.5X6 candles. Can be some 2 piece box, etc...Any ideas? Besides usbox.com, etc... websites, does anyone know good sources?
  12. Thank you. How come I can't find any info on hemp wicks...or there are another name for them?
  13. Do you have any general rule for using hemp wicks in soy/parafin candles?
  14. Hello there, I need your help! I don;t want to spend 10 years experimenting with different kinds of wicks and was wondering any there are any specific rules about what type to use for different kind of candles. I am trying to find the right wick for both soy and parafin wax candles. I am using hemp wick and it's ok, but wonder if there any rule for using different types of wicks. Help!
  15. Thank you, too funny it's the one I found so far. Will try them. Thank you!
  16. But they are noy soy wax. I am looking for vegetable wax.
  17. Thanks, but I need a large amount, so I am looking for a wholesale supplier..
  18. Does anyone know a good source of glass (colored) jars supplier? I am looking for someone local in a tri-state area... Thanks a bunch!!!!:highfive:
  19. Can you all give me more feedback on wet spots? Do you get the same problems with paraffin containers? If the same container is used, which wax performs better from a wet spot perspective - soy or paraffin? Thanks!
  20. That's great feedback!! We own a few high end spas and I just want to make sure we know what we are getting into from the beginning so I definitely appreciate the pratical experience you are able to offer me. Just don't want to disappoint our customers :-) So what you all are saying is that companies like Erg*, Votiv*, etc all have the same problems? Their candles have wet spots too? If so then I will be much more comfortable with out problems. I totally agree with your statements - I get a great pour with the C-3, but the wet spots can happen at any time for any reason - weird observation, one occasion I held a candle with a wet spot in my hands for about ten minutes without realizing it - and the wet spot disappeared I guess from my body heat. That lead me to try reheating the wet spots on other jars and it seemed to work because the spots went away....but as you already know and I soon found out, they don't go away for long!! I guess once a wet spot appears, that's it for the candle, right?? No way to reheat the outside effectively to remove the spot?? Thanks for letting me post my newbie questions here. It's very much appreciated and a great learning resource.
  21. Thanks for the feedback! We quickly realized that Soy and Essential Oils don't really blend well. The cold throw is terrible and the hot throw not much better. Do you know of any companies that can custom blend fragrance oils for us?
  22. Since I am a newbie to the candle world, I definitely appreciate your feedback. I wonder though if pricing has something to do with it?? We are planning on launching a high end candle - soy, good f/o, and expensive packaging - all for top dollar. I am not sure those types of consumers will be so forgiving as the 'country candle' type of customer?? What do you think? I know that as a consumer myself, I would want a perfect looking candle if I was paying $25++ for it, or am I off-base? Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate your help and suggestions!!
  23. Thanks so much for your help!! I am a bit of a perfectionist so I do get frustrated with this, but I am detemrined to get it right :-) We are trying to do all natural soy candles so we don't know what to do if we are going to stick with C-3 Cargill Soy Wax. Here's the weird thing. I poured some really beautiful tumbler candles last week and let them sit for a few days. They looked great right until we lit them which is when they got their 'wet spots' isn't that strange?? What could be causing this? Is there an all natural additive that we can add to keep the adherance?
