beautifulfeetcandles
I want to color a pink sugar soap pink and baby blue and call it cotton candy. Anyone know a good pink and baby blue coloring for soap and where I can purchase it?I normally dont color soap... I have couple times but I dont have a good place to buy colors for soaps. Help would be much much appreciated
Luci
Good luck with this one. I've tried doing a pink swirl, but I mainly just end up with a dark brown bar. But, I do use goat milk and don't add any titanium dioxide.
Down Hom
Yep even with just using water it still discolors dark brown for me also. So I just keep making it with goats milk.Let us know if you get it to color
heirloomoriginals
IF you want to color Pink sugar, I would reccomend vanilla stabilizer (available at Bittercreek), but it still may turn a funny color. You may have to leave part of it unscented and just color the top. That is what I have done in the past and it still looks nice.Steph
Meridith
The vanilla stabilizer from BCN works well to keep a soap from discoloring. You use it 1:1.Or you can do a blind swirl with this scent.
ladysj
I used it in mine & it turned orange then after a few days it turned dark brown.
jbren
I received a soap from a friend using the vanilla stabilizer and SW's Pink Sugar. She also added some TD and pink clay beads. I don't think she'd mind me posting thisThis is at 2 weeks
Meridith
That is too bad. Others have used it with this FO with great success. I've used it with other FOs of mine that discolor just as bad as Pink Sugar and also had great success.
beautifulfeetcandles
wonder if coton candy fragrance from thecandlesource is the same as far as discoloration? Dang I'm glad I (edit)asked you folks(end edit) before ordering for soap!
SueH
I took out a few cups of my traced soap and colored it pink and put it on as a top layer on my pink sugar soap. HTH

Dang I'm glad I (edit)asked you folks(end edit) before ordering for soap!My guess would be that it would since most FOs that are sweet (have vanilla in it) will discolor to a dark color. There are however some vanillas that are non-discoloring.

I don't think she'd mind me posting thisThis is at 2 weeksThat's nice! Just off the top of my head, I wonder how a pink colored mica in place of the beads (along w/ the TD) would look? Aunt Bee
I thought about trying it too and just not premixing the mica. Maybe just sprinkle a little in before trace? The only place I can find the clay beads is from a supplier in Australia.I love that soap! It's delicate and feminine but would fit in with my rustic/natural/primitive look...whatever that is LOL.
