pebbles
Ok, I have Marie Gale's book and I'm a little confused on when & where to use the warning label - warning: the safety of this product has not been deteremined. I'm making labels for my lip balms & lotion bars, so do I need to state them on there as well as the description on the website? Or is it just the labels? Or neither? PLEASE HELP!!!!TIAETA - Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section.
MsDammit
Call me crazy but if I saw a warning like that I wouldn't buy it.:lipsrseal
MissMary
You are technically/legally required to put in on all cosmetics that have not been challenge tested and passed with certain marks."Cosmetics are not required to be safety tested before marketing. If the safety has not been substantiated, a warning label is required."http://www.fpinva.org/Regulation/regulation.htm
HeavenScentU
I would also contact your insurance agent about what has to be placed on your products. Mine had lots of info. and requirements.
pebbles
Thanks MissMary. That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure. Now I know people send scrubs, lotions, etc. to be challenge tested, but are lip balms & lotion bars supposed to be sent, too? I figure everyone is doing their own testing on those products. MissMary
I'm not sure on lotion bars specifically, but I know the balms are "cosmetics".
CareBear
challenge testing and other micro testing is NOT safety testing. it's only one small part of it.
