jchernyb
This is my first expenience with HTP pre-tabbed wicks. Everytime I pour the wax and get ready to secure the wick straight, the wick comes out of the pre-tabbed holder. I am not pulling on it hard. I am just centering it and before you know it, the wick has come loose from it tab holder. Does anyone else have this problem? Help!
topofmurrayhill
It sucks when that happens. Why don't you try giving them an extra crimp before using them and contact the supplier to complain. Maybe they'll give you free wicks in exchange for the hair you pulled out.Just use needle nosed pliers if have them. It won't be neat but at least it'll be tight. Georgia
I've had this happen with the larger HTP wicks...above 93. I just give them a crimp before setting them. I've had it happens with HTP from various suppliers. I think it's just the nature of the wick.
Trish
Same here. It was especially bad with the 104's. I bought 1,000 of them and what a pain to have to crimp them all before securing them in my jars. I might as well buy the wick by the spool if I'm going to have to crimp them anyway! BACKWOODS
I use HTP 104 and I have not had that problem. Maybe it is your wick supplier. Try a different vendor for your wicks...can anyone suggest one? I get my wicks from Early American Candle.
