mrsposey
I'm making melts using IGI 4794, orange/clove fragrance oil and liquid dye from candlemaker store. I want to make an ivory melt but when using the recommended amount the melts turn out more yellow. Does this have anything to do with the fact that the fo is orange in color? If so, how can I make an ivory tart?Nancy
mizbizzyb
I usually use ivory die - but use a toothpick to get a dab of color. I need to get chips to weigh to be more accurate...however there is rarely a difference in the shades for me.
SatinDucky
Have you tried leaving it uncolored to see just how dark the FO itself makes the wax? If it's darker than ivory you may need to add a bit of white pigment to it.
Circle
I have found that the yellow is common if you put in too much dye, it takes miniscule amounts of liquid dye to get ivory/cream. My husband once used too much ivory in paraffin wax and it came out orange!!
GKC
Definitely try the toothpick trick. That's how I get Ivory. Otherwise my tarts turn out too dark.
Darbla
I use the tiniest smidgen of coffee/brown to get ivory in vanilla scented votives. I use toothpicks too.
