  1. Soy-n-Suds, This sounds like a great idea. I'll give it a try. Thank you!
  2. CandleMaker3D, That sound interesting, but I'm having trouble picturing exactly what you printed!
  3. Hi Laura, Thanks for your reply. I am using the e-z wick setting tool. I thought my wicks were stiff enough. If I look on the bottom, though, I can clearly see that the bottom isn't centered. The tool seems snug enough on my jars.
  4. I am having difficulty getting my wicks centered consistently. I’ve been testing waxes, wicks and fragrances for the last two years and this is my last remaining hurdle. I’m using a wick setter, but about half the time the wicks are off center. What am I doing wrong?
  5. Oh, I do like Cornbread Muffins. Who doesn't love muffins of any type!!! Thanks!
  6. The Sugar Corn Pudding actually smells really yummy. Hints of warm corn, buttery, sugary.
  7. Two of my favorite scents aren't selling and I believe it's due to their name. People like it when it's burning, but they don't buy it when they see it on the shelf. So, any suggestions for names for Sugar Corn Pudding and Amish Quilt?
  8. What about universal additive? Not sure exactly what's in it. Thanks for the info on vybar.
  9. I've been testing with 6006 for the past year, but have been thinking about trying the 4627. I'm rethinking after reading all of the comments. But, would adding vybar to the 4627 make it a little harder and help with wicking?
  10. It's made by homespunheartprim on etsy. If she doesn't have it listed, just send her a private message telling her you're interested and she'll let you know when she lists it. Her molds are expensive, but very unique and nice. Her ornament molds start at $25.00 each. Have fun! Nancy
  11. Look up her group on facebook (what's in your burner) and click on the discussions tab. She has lists of candle companies, tart companies, etc. Maybe everyone should join her group and then post what she's doing!
  12. That seems high to me. I buy my base from candlemakers store and it works out to be about .14 per ounce. I also purchase my bottles and sprayers from them for .64 total.
  13. I think I goofed. I've never ordered from Aroma Haven. I was looking for a place to enter the code for the sale price and didn't see it. I thought it would be on the last page but, then I realized my order was placed without it. I do NOT want 20 samples if I can't get the sale price. I sent them an email asking them to cancel the order if I can't get the sale price. Do you think there will be a problem?
  14. Oh shoot, the same thing just happened to me! Grrr. I've never ordered from them before but after reading everyones' reviews, I figured I was missing something good! I'll try again later. How long does this sale last?
  15. If you sign up for a UPS account online the rates are cheaper. I was going to a local place and paying for each shipment as I went and UPS driver kindly told me about this one day. Also, if you ship often and have a pickup service, which has a weekly charge depending on how much you ship, they will give you 30% the published price. They also supply the labels for free. I would have never known about these services had it not been for my UPS driver. I just print everything online and get a weekly bill.
  16. Just learned that CandleScience is discontinuing Jack Frost. It's a really good seller for me. They are already out of the 5 lb. and 16 oz. size so you better grab it before it's gone if it's one of your favs!
  17. Beautiful! May I ask where you get the candle paint?
  18. I have a water jacketed melter, which I LOVE. I used the turkey fryer for a year and went through 3 liners as they kept warping to the point where I could not use them.
  19. That happened to me before when I ordered something small when shipping was free on something else. They told me to put them through as a separate order.
  20. After making tarts for the past 18 months, I'm finally comfortable enough to start making candles. I poured my first one a couple of days ago and was very pleased with the way it turned out. I used 6006 with 6% fo. It looked great!!! Today I did my test burn and it only took me 10 minutes to discover I did something very wrong! I used ECO 14 for my wick. But, now that I think about it when I bought those wicks I was planning on using a larger container. So, I went to a site that had a wick guide and it said for my container (pint size regular mouth mason jar) I should use ECO 2 but they're only available in a 3" length? Is this correct? When I lit the candle the flame was too big, it was throwing black soot and the candle had a petroleum smell. Where do I go from here? Maybe just stick with melts! lol Nancy
