LaurieH
If was wanting to formulate a recipe for a soap that is better for mature, dry skin would it be better to use oils that are higher in linoleic? I was going through the oils on soapcalc and found some that are higher in linoleic than the oleic. Would the soap turn out OK if those oils were used? Or would I only need to add 1 oil high in linoeic to the base oils of say coconut, palm, olive, and such? I am trying to find a recipe that would be very moisturizing for mature, dry(extremely) skin. Thanks for any help.Laurie
CareBear
Try QuietGirl's basic recipe in the recipe section. My ancient skin loves a variation of it.
Meridith
A simple castile soap is wonderful for mature skin. It does take a long cure time though.
Scented
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't sunflower oil good for maturing skin?

Soapmaker Man
I have a recipe high in linoleic acid for mature skin I really like. I use Safflower and Sunflower oils since they are high in linoleic acid.Paul
Louise
Avocado oil is excellent for mature, dry skin, so is Emu oil. Kukui Nut oil is excellent also and is used for sunburns and chapped skin, it is high in linoleic too. 10% to 20% in your soap recipe makes an outstanding soap. Jojoba oil is a great one too. So is cocoa butter, canola oil, sunflower oil.HTH
