Wick'n'Wax
Can you use them for anything other than jars? I have some from an impulse buy but the only containers I make anything like jars are tumblers.Do they have any other use?

Wick'n'Wax
Hi Anjie.Hard to describe, imagine a tin bottle top 3" diameter, frilled edge around the bottom and shapes like stars cut out of the top.You put them on top of jar candles like lids. artcwolf
candle shades like these?http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Jar+Accessories&product%5Fid=32%2D309&path=Containers%2FJars%23Jar+Accessories
Vio
These are them I'm guessing? http://secure.candlesupply.com/catalog_page_detail_keyword.cfm?queries_index=index5If you could find a low and squat bowl, with the same diameter opening, you could fill it with potpourri and the capper would be decorative looking? Make some kind of jar light, and you could project that image onto the ceiling if the bulb is bright enough, for a kid's bedroom.

Vio
Wow I don't know how the link I had posted, was bad like that!!! Those cappers are pretty. If you sell candles, no one wants to buy them? They're supposed to make the candles burn better or something, aren't they?
artcwolf
Vio yours worked mine didn't.kimmeroo how do you make the links show words lke you did on these boards...I can't figure it out :undecided
Oh-MYo
They're supposed to make the candles burn better or something, aren't they?I saw that too and was thinking exactly the opposite. That it would restrict air flow.I think it would be cool to test that. I know candles are like cars, they all burn nice when you first take'em off the shelf. I just wonder, at what point do they actually improve the burn? And are there some containers which work better than others?
Wick'n'Wax
I don't really make containers though, just a few tumblers now and then. I'm a pillar woman by heart

grama
I have both the tin and ceramic ones and I don't specially care for them. Also you can't use them on double wicked anyway. They will just take up space in my storage room! My opinion is don't waste your money on them.
Stella1952
They are cute, but I imagine they would get more than a little hot to the touch. They would be great for tops for tins for warmers... help prevent spills; also would be nice for potpourri, etc. OhMyo,I agree it would be interesting to test the "makes candles burn better" assertion... I can see possibilities for the candles burning more evenly, but no way around the star shaped burn scars on the fingers...:undecided
artcwolf
A wife of a co-worker uses them, so i asked her about them, and she said the candle burns more even and they don't flicker....she's going to test one of the bulb jars i'm toying with to test the flicker issue. kimmeroo
I personally use them and love them! To remove them I just use my wick timmer..grab it and lay on the containes lid untl it cools.Works for me...They aren't that pricey either..IMHO...The only jar that it didn't do so well was my 12oz.Mayo Jar I get from T.V.G....HTH!
