sparkette
Do most of you double wick anything larger than 3" I read somewhere on here I thought that the majority of candle makers on here double wick anything larger. Just curious because I an an 8 oz. 4" jar and a 16 oz.4" jar and I am seriously thinking about double wicking.
Jane42
We do double-wick our 4" jars but I know there are a few around here who have successfully single wicked them. We just were not able to get it work.
kimmeroo
I used to double wick evrything until I got the hang on how to read those wicking charts! That helps alot! just check what type of wicks you are using to the diameter of the jar and it tells you where to start!I have a couple 4" wide containers I use cd's so I have to use the larger ones for that to get a full melt pool.I use cd 22.hth kimmeroo
Lantern Light Mama
There was a huge thread on double wicking 4 inch containers where Stella and I posted some photos...it's one of those trial and error things. Depends on your wax, etc. I single wick my soy with #5 square braid wick. Good luck!
Stella1952
Sparkette, before you go worrying about double-wickin', etc. and Big 'Uns, get some repetitions of good results under your belt first so moving on to more difficult containers will be easier. PurpleHippie
Good advise from Stella! Be careful, depending on the container double wicking can sometimes make the container VERY hot. Then again one very large wick can do the same thing.
Rae
I triple wick my 4" containers. One reason is because I get a more even burn than with 2 wicks. If I wick up to use 2 wicks then my jar gets too hot to touch.
