I finally made the plunge and made CP Soap

Recommended Posts

Well

I finally made the plunge and made me some CP Soap. I was so chicken that I waited until I went to the BC Convention so I could see it done in person before I attempted it. I bought a kit from BC and then stared at it all day LOL and finally did it...I now have 3 batches under my belt!!! And can't wait to make more

This one is scented Cucumber Melon which came in the kit, I tried to do the swirl in the mold but it didnt get to the bottom :embarasse but it smells really good!

Now I need to get some more colors because all I have is green that came in the kit and I made some Love Spell (of course) and ended up not coloring it because Love Spell just doesnt scream green to me LOL

That's some pretty cool soap you made. Lye scares me so I've never tried soap...I just look at the awesome pictures in the gallery. Congratulations. Ginger

Lye is what scared me too. I had been wanting to make it for the past year and I'd read all the info and looked at all the cool soaps, read all the post etc etc but was so afraid but once I did it I was mad at myself for waiting so long! You should of seen me all geared up in my safety glass, long rubber gloves shakin in my shoes, my husband was laughing at me but I made him go to bed and leave me alone so I wouldnt have any distractions. It's alot of fun and I'm glad I did it!

And thank you everyone for the kind words! You'll be seeing more of me in the gallery when I master that darn swirl LOL

I still look like that! :laugh2:

It's important to never forget that lye can be very dangerious... but with that awareness we can take steps to lessen the risk to a reasonable level. Ginger, I've been reading your posts for awhile now, you are a very conscientious person, when you are ready you will do it, and do it well.

:laugh2: Me too! My knees were knocking so hard. I made my son take pictures of me all geared up to remind me of that first time.
