ayshapooh Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 WellI finally made the plunge and made me some CP Soap. I was so chicken that I waited until I went to the BC Convention so I could see it done in person before I attempted it. I bought a kit from BC and then stared at it all day LOL and finally did it...I now have 3 batches under my belt!!! And can't wait to make moreThis one is scented Cucumber Melon which came in the kit, I tried to do the swirl in the mold but it didnt get to the bottom :embarasse but it smells really good! Now I need to get some more colors because all I have is green that came in the kit and I made some Love Spell (of course) and ended up not coloring it because Love Spell just doesnt scream green to me LOL Quote
gingerinarkansas Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 That's some pretty cool soap you made. Lye scares me so I've never tried soap...I just look at the awesome pictures in the gallery. Congratulations. Ginger Quote
Carriegsxr6 Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Great job with only a few batches under your belt. You are so lucky to have been able to attend a convention. Most noobies dont have it so lucky and strike out on their first few batches. Quote
GrandmaArial Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Wow! Love the swirls.. they look like they were painted on. Really nice. Ginger... you know you want to... one day you'll join us... Quote
Brenda Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Great looking soap! The green swirls have an organic look about them. Nice!:smiley2: Quote

Congratulations. GingerGingerLye is what scared me too. I had been wanting to make it for the past year and I'd read all the info and looked at all the cool soaps, read all the post etc etc but was so afraid but once I did it I was mad at myself for waiting so long! You should of seen me all geared up in my safety glass, long rubber gloves shakin in my shoes, my husband was laughing at me but I made him go to bed and leave me alone so I wouldnt have any distractions. It's alot of fun and I'm glad I did it! And thank you everyone for the kind words! You'll be seeing more of me in the gallery when I master that darn swirl LOLSandy~WI Quote
GrandmaArial Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 ...all geared up in my safety glass, long rubber gloves shakin in my shoes...Sandy~WII still look like that! It's important to never forget that lye can be very dangerious... but with that awareness we can take steps to lessen the risk to a reasonable level. Ginger, I've been reading your posts for awhile now, you are a very conscientious person, when you are ready you will do it, and do it well. Quote
CBE Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Purty soap!!! Isn't it an awesome feeling? Yeah... my heart still races when I get the lye out! I usually end up fogging my goggles up. Quote
SOAPFREAK Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Those are gorgeous! Great job! Better than my first try. Quote
gingerinarkansas Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Keep posting those awesome soap pictures and I'm bound to cave in someday. LOL All I want to make is just a simple castille...no color...no scent. I see myself getting closer with each soap posted. Ginger Quote
Ruina Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 You should of seen me all geared up in my safety glass, long rubber gloves shakin in my shoes Me too! My knees were knocking so hard. I made my son take pictures of me all geared up to remind me of that first time. Quote
jaybyrd Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 I just love the way that turned out! Like a pictogram, or a brush painting - beautiful! Quote
