mrsposey
I was very pleased with my first batch of tarts although I'm not sure the scent lasted as long as I would have liked. It was very strong at first and had a great throw, but it faded after a couple of days. Is this a normal time? Is there something I should add to the wax to make the scent last longer?Nancy
Aspencreek
Hi Nancy. If you use the search you will find many topics on tarts. Good Luck!!
number2of7
A normal tart should only last around 8-10 hours, or through two tealight candles if you're using a warmer. So, if you're getting smell for two days, you're fine. Just pop that one out and put a new one in....and enjoy!HTH
mrsposey
Thank you so much! For some reason, I thought they should last longer.Nancy
debscent
What size is your tart?
Candybee
I use the 1 oz fluted tarts and get a good strong throw for about 10-15 hours depending on the fragrance.I also use the clamshells and get a good throw for up to 10 hours. But a breakaway melt from a clamshell is only about 1/2 oz.
mrsposey
They're 1 oz.Nancy
TartAddict
Sounds like you're doing a good job with them Keep in mind that some scents will last longer than others and that quality FOs will last longer than cheaper ones If I can't smell my tarts for at least 10 hours throughout my entire 2800 sf house (using an electric warmer)...I won't add them to my line. Just my $.02!
debscent
Sounds good to me. 1 ounce of wax lasting a few days. A votive is 2 ounces of wax and it burns 12-15 hours approximately. My breakaway tart cubes last 10-12 hours each and as mentioned they are 1/2 ounce.
mrsposey
That's a very good guideline. I'll keep that in mind.Nancy

flowerbaby
I am doing something very wrong. My tarts only throw scent for about 2 hours. I am using one square out of a 6 unit clamshell. The wax I use is KY Parasoy Votive Tart wax. What is a good wax with better long scent throw.
eugenia
What percentage of fragrance are you using and is it quality FO?
flowerbaby
I am just floored. I don't understand what wax you all are using that a 1 oz. cube of wax is lasting 8-10 hours. I am lucky if mine last for 2 hours. I have been using the KY Parasoy Votive Tart wax and heating to 165 as they recommend and pouring at 155 as they recommend and they throw strong, but it just doesn't last long. What wax are you all using. I must need to change wax. Thank you in advance for your help. Elizabeth

flowerbaby
I use really good oils. I use, KY, Lone Star and Candle Science. What do you suggest I try?
