Cami
I'm thinking of using CB Advanced for our Soy Melts in clamshells. Has anyone here used this wax for melts and if so what were your results.. I haven't used this before and I'm hoping that it will melt quickly and throw scent well... Thanks Cami
Luci
I gave it a try when I was first considering doing melts. I never tried it in a clamshell, but I did make quite a few in the individual molds. They melted nicely. However, while experimenting with packaging, I found the melts so soft that they were a little on the messy side and didn't package very neatly for me. kandlekrazy
I didn't have much luck with this wax for melts. I think it's just too soft. Comes out good and melts quickly, but doesn't package or ship well...too low melt point I think?
iammommytwo
IMHO, it's too "soft" and will not release easily enough.
Jami
If a wax is too soft for melts but you don't want to go through the expense of two different waxes, try adding some beeswax or coconut oil to harden the wax.
Auntie S
How much beeswax would you add to say 1 lb of soy waxAuntieS
Cami
Thanks for the responses... Has anyone used the cb 135 for melts??
Jami
How much beeswax would you add to say 1 lb of soy waxAuntieSI use 3% which is 1/2 oz per pound. That should do the trick but you can use up to 5% if they are still too soft.
Luci
I had pretty much the same results with cb135 as with the cba--just too soft and the packaging looks messy.

kandlekrazy
Has anyone tried to mix straight soy container blend with a pillar blend to make tarts or melts? I've been using votive blend and it works good...but I'm out and have some container wax that is bottom of the box and ugly in containers...time to remelt and use it for something!
