SatinDucky
I don't know if I used the wrong wax, over-dip was too cool or water too warm, but it definitely didn't crackle! Made a big mess though *goes back to hunting for Donita's directions*
gingerinarkansas
Just call it an experiment gone bad and keep trying. It's a very pretty color. Ginger
Donita
What temp was your dipping water? I use 180. Sounds like yours was too hot if you got a mess. Donita Louise
SatinDucky
the water is supposed to be 180??The wax was about 200 and I had just dumped about 4 cups of ice into the water. Maybe because I used the pillar blend 4625 for the dip instead of plain paraffin?
Donita
you dipped them into wax? No.....just dip in 180 degree water and then ice water. Donita Louise

Steph in tx
Can you clean that one up? It's still a pretty candle w/o the extra white wax attached. Can it be saved?
SatinDucky
Can you clean that one up? It's still a pretty candle w/o the extra white wax attached. Can it be saved?Yeah, I zapped it pretty good. It actually looks rather nice now. All the chunks are smooth and even with the rest A temporary save that is... until I try to crackle it again using hot water this time
Tallbabydoll
That looks good compared to my 2st attempts. One was a Purple and red tie tie, that ended up light lavender and pink washed lol. But it did crackle. Good Luck on your next go, cuz I know your gonna go nuts on this now til ya conquire it.
sharyl55
Can't wait to see your 2nd attempt. I haven't had the nerve to try one yet but will now remember it is hot water then cold water. LOL
Donita
Sharyl......I can't believe you haven't tried it yet. When you learn how to do it...it is soooooooooooo easy. I have a pot of hot water on right now and am crackling a bunch. I think it's fun too. I love to watch the cracks form. sharyl55
Donita, 1st I have to learn how to wick a pillar. LOL I have been playing with the everlasting pillars. Baby steps to the real thing. I think crackling will be the easiest part of making a pillar.

Darwin
I agree, other than that piece of wax stuck to the top, it looks pretty darn good.
