number2of7
I have some liquid dyes that came in the bottles with the Yorker caps....they make such a mess! Every time I pull of the red cap....liquid goes everywhere!Which dispensing tops or containers work the best with liquid dyes? I like how they perform, but gotta find a "neater" method....if that's even possible.
eugenia
I too have the messy dispenser bottles. The good old fashioned medicine type dropper caps work the best.
SatinDucky
The good old fashioned medicine type dropper caps work the best. I definitely agree!
Sharon in KY
I really like the droppers too. I get most of my liquid dyes from http://www.rusticescentuals.com/ and bought extra bottles from them but they quit selling them. So now I get the dropper bottles from Steve's http://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/. Not saying they're not a mess too but not near as bad as the flip tops. number2of7
The good old fashioned medicine type dropper caps work the best.Does anyone sell just the droppers and will they fit the plastic bottles that I already have the dye in? Or should I just replace the whole thing?
gmp
Candlescience in NC sells dye with the droppers. I don't know if they would sell the droppers separately.

cestlavielumiere
I use the medicine droppers found in the baby section at Walmart. They cost less than a buck each. I put them in a test tube rack when I am finish using them.
topofmurrayhill
One good source of dropper tops is Candlechem on e-Bay, but I don't know if they'll fit the plastic bottles.I don't have great luck myself with the dropper tops. The bulbs can deteriorate over time. They swell up and leave stains on my fingers.
Candle Man
The eye droppers are better than any other method for liquid dye. The only thing is you need to get extra droppers, so you can replace them, because they will not last the life of the dye. The dye will eat the rubber bulbs. BTW - Always wear latex gloves when handling liquid dye, if it gets on your skin it will stain, and take forever to wear off.
topofmurrayhill
I used to replace the dropper tops when they went bad but got tired of it. I still like the amber boston rounds for storing the dye but now I just keep plain caps on them and buy 500-count boxes of disposable pipettes for dispensing.A bit of odorless mineral spirits will take that dye right off you. It's useful for a lot of other cleaning too.

topofmurrayhill
Thanks for the tip.No prob. The OMS is the stuff from the art supply store and it's pretty safe. Don't get regular mineral spirits from the hardware store cuz it's nasty.
