kandlekrazy
Ok, after hearing you all talk about it, I finally went to Wal Mart and bought a Presto Pot. I put about 2 1/2-3# of wax in it and it melted way faster than I ever imagined it would! My questions are:Does the pot make popping/crackling sounds? Can't determine if something is wrong, if its because it's new or if it is supposed to do this?Do you leave the lid on until you are ready to use the wax?:embarasse Thanks ladies & gentlemen for your input.:highfive:
candlelady
They are great aren't they?Popping could be because it's new. Mine did that for a bit, now it's thoroughly broke in! LOLWhat type of wax are you using and what temp are you setting it at?
escentiallysoy
Mine also did the same thing the first few times I used it.
kandlekrazy
Right now I'm using Cargill C-3, and I set it between warm and 200, tested temp a couple of times and it is at 170. How long can you leave it? I was afraid if I left it too long the natural oils in the wax would begin to burn off. Also will the lid cause condensation to form or is the temp low enough that it won't happen?
flightoffancy
Do not leave the lid on while the wax is melting. The only time my lid is on is when the wax has hardened back up and I won't be remelting anytime soon.
sisterkaren
We love our presto pots. If you know someone handy (my husband did ours), have them weld on a spigot for you. We have three like that and would be lost without them. They sell them on ebay for $50 on up.
