realmarcha
I would appreciate your input on wicking the 6006 wax. I have tried zinc already, but would like to know what others have tried that will give a great scent throw, and little to no soot. I posted this on both boards, since it is a paraffin/veggie wax blend and did not know where I would get the best response. :undecided Thanks in advance for your suggestions! diamondk
Sorry but I use zinc for 6006 when I use it. Maybe someone else will chime in if they use something different. HTH
cindym
I use zinc also , I have no sooting issues. What size jar are you wicking. I tried all wicks you can think of and always got soot.

diamondk
Not Cindy but have you tried a 60z? What size wick have you tried?
realmarcha
The 60z is the one I have tried and it is doing OK. I was just wondering if there was a BIT hotter wick I could try that would not soot to make the melt pool a bit hotter for a better throw. Again, TIA

Again, TIAI prefer the zinc but you could also try a cotton wick. Peak's carries the cotton and I have used them but to me the glass just gets to hot but they do work well. julie
Hi,I used the 6006 for about a year...just recently switched to J223 but I found the CD wicks to work best for me. Mostly cd10 & 12 sometimes a cd14 for real tuffies.hth,Julie
realmarcha
Thanks ALL! I have cotton, zinc and CD wicks here. I will play with all of them. I am also testing the J223, which seems to get a full melt pool a bit faster than the 6006 with the zinc, which is OK, but I am finding the 6006 is throwing a bit better for me...we will see once I start playing with all the different wicks.Have a great weekend ya' all! realmarcha
Julie: Why did you switch from the 6006 to the J223? Just curious. Also, are you using the same wicks for the J223 as you did for the 6006? Thanks again!
