pacificflames
I've been using gluedots to keep my wicks in place which works good but I wonder what everybody else is doing. The dots are kind of high so at the end when they are almost burned down every little mm makes a difference! Thanks!
Candle Man
You can try...Hot Glue100% Silicone Caulk (this has to sit overnight to set-up) I don't like silicone because it stinks and the scent stays in the container.Wick Stickums™ from Bitter Creek (I like these the best, they hold great) http://www.bittercreeksouth.com/wicks.htm scroll dow to bottom of page

pacificflames
Thanks everyone, they look like the gluedots I got from lonestar candlesupply, so I guess I'm doing the right thing!
Jami
I have used the glue gun when I want to wick several jars at once. I also have used the wick stickums. I have two sided mounting tape that I bought in a roll at walmart that works just as well when I run out of my stickums. Stickums are just more convenient, quick and easy to me. I have tried the glue dots but not a fan of them. If I pour hot wax, the wick easily comes loose. I have even tried to zap the bottoms of the containers with a heat gun to see if it would help the glue dots adhere better. I personally would never use another glue dot for my wicks. pacificflames
You've been my helper of the day for all my questions, thanks Jami! I'll try the stickums then because that is exactly what happened to me a couple of times, that the dots came loose while pouring, very frustrating! cjrhsk
I also use the stickums from BCN. They haven't come loose for me. I make sure my jars are room temp. before I stick them though. I used to use hot glue. They came off too many times for my patience.Janet
jakalex
I use the Glue Dots from Candlescience and have never had a problem. I did not like them when I first ordered them last May but recently went back to them. I noticed the last box I received they looked different. Not sure but they may have changed them???? I do not have a problem with them coming loose.
