diamondgirl_26
Today I made a hurricane. I used Genwax's hurricane wax. I added 10% microwax. When I took my hurricane out it had what can only be described as mottling. Does anyone know what happened and what I can do so it won't happen again? oh yeah i also added a little pink coloring block.
Linnyeg
did you add any fragrance at all?
topofmurrayhill
With such a whopping addition of micro, doesn't matter if she added fragrance. That won't mottle it.I'd venture a guess some water got in the wax.
Donita
Years ago that happend to me with some wax that I used to use. There might have been water in the wax when you got it or or air. That is why you should heat your wax over 200 and let ouy all of the "junk" that might be trapped. Did it look like air bubbles? I couldn't get rid of it so I changed to another supplier and added just 1/2 oz micro pp of wax and I have no problems now. Donita
sharyl55
Ditto Donita except i only use 1/4 oz of micro pp. I'd follow her direction - she's the expert. Definitely heat your wax to 200 + for at least 1/2 hr. What was your pour temp. I use IGI 1260 and pour at 200.
topofmurrayhill
Either of those suggestions for micro sound more reasonable than 10%. Add too much and the shell is gonna start to soften when you put a candle in there.
