sudsnwicks
I know some of you make layered candles with 2-3 different scents (one scent for each layer). I tried this with a votive, and it looked nice, but when I lit it, the two scents seemed to mix together after a while, and so did the 2 colors. I thought I would smell the first scent during the first half and the second scent during the second half. Is that not how it is supposed to work? Would I get the same problem with containers too? Georgia
I would think it would be a bit trickier with votives as they are very small and get liquidy (liquidy? is that a word?) very quickly. I have done pillars with 3 scents, you smell one, then a blend, then the second, etc.
diamondk
I agree with Georgia on the votives. Along with pillars with 3 scents I also do containers with layers and scents. The containers can also be a little tricky depending on the size of container you are using. HTH
Scented
Just backing up Georgia. There's really no time to get distinction in scents on a votive. Most votives lose the pool within an hour and that's going to mix with anything else.
MommaD
Votives are so small, that it's really hard to smell distinction in your layers. I did layer container candles, and the 16 and 26 ounce jars, you could smell the differences in the layers. My 4 and 11 ounce jars, it was harder. sudsnwicks
Thank you for the advice! Looks like I will have to branch out into pillars in order to get the layering to work properly. By the way, while I did not get the desired result for my layered votive, the two scents blended together did smell pretty good (Georgia Peach and White Tea & Ginger).
