mandalinn Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 You can get that mold and Joann's or Michaels too, in a loaf or individual bars. Only $2.49 too. I saw them there yesterday. Quote
Michi Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I have that mold (from tony's) and although I really like the way it looks, I have to tell ya, I don't really care for it while USING it, it's awkward to hold (it's pretty big) and I like to roll my soap around in my hands to get it nice and lathery, and this shape makes it hard.Just my two cents. Lorrie Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I bought a mold from WSP that is similar to that. I agree that I don't care for it. The bars are awkward to hold. Quote
Lorrie Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Landa,I gotta ask... Who made the soap and what type is it? It looks wonderful!! Quote
Michi Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 looks like oatmeal soap to me. As a matter of fact, it looks almost just like the M&P oatmeal base I just got from the SFIC co-op! Quote
Landa Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 Landa,I gotta ask... Who made the soap and what type is it? It looks wonderful!!a friend of mine(beth) from livejournal made it. It is wheat germ, milk and honey and it is an HP soap. Quote
tlc26 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I have mold like that and I got it at Pat Catan's. I think it was $1.99 Quote
Landa Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 here are 2how do you insulate and cover these things????? Quote
mountainmadness Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 here are 2how do you insulate and cover these things?????I do not insulate and cover. The soap process happens even if it does not gel. If the soap gels when you are using an individual mold you will have a heck of a time getting it out without freezing it. Quote

Sherie Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 So, to prevent gel, do you put them in the frig to keep them cool? I have this mold but haven't used it yet. Quote
mountainmadness Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 When I use an individual mold I make the soap as usual but just at a lower temp. to avoid the gel stage. I use room temp lye and pour into oil temps at 100F. I just put the molds on my soap counter, let them sit for 24 hrs. and pop out to dry. Quote
Landa Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 Thanks! I will try this one after I try my upland. Quote
