  1. I am out of refined shea butter!! I have a ton of orders for whipped shea of course too. LOL! Where do you buy yours in bulk?????? TIA!!!
  2. I have a customer request for dupes of Fresh's Sugar Blossom and the new Prada fragrance. Does anyone know if any suppliers have these available??? Thanks!!! Manda Mandalinn's Bath & Body http://www.mandalinn.com
  3. I sell them as "ugly bars" for usually half price. They go over pretty well.
  4. Yeah, I have found the bench cappers, the problem is the molds though. Thanks though.
  5. I am looking into getting one and was wondering if anyone has invested in one? I just have such a hard time getting my bombs really hard & dense, especially with the humidity down here in FL. http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=27 Let me know if you have one and if you like it. Or if anyone is looking to get rid of one, contact me. Manda http://www.mandalinn.com
  6. It is a GREAT starter kit and a good value. There are two choices, one with the dyes and one without. They both come with everything you need, oils, FO (they pick one, you pick one), the mold (great prelined wooded log mold with a cover), etc.....it has enough to make two 2 lb batches and the mold is VERY nice. All you need to add is the lye, water and equipment. They have great customer service as well and I highly recommend them. Liquid soap dyes are expensive, I didn't get it because I already had dyes, but if you need some I say go for it. Good luck!
  7. I am using bases right now, but would like to eventually make my own. Is it hard???? I wouldn't even know where to begin. Guess I should look into that soon.
  8. Hi everyone....I am more of a B&B and CP soap maker, but I want to add some home fragrance to my line and I have been trying out tarts, room sprays and sachet beads. I found a wax that I love (echosoya pillar blend) and I am slowly figuring out the right FO amts. My questions are these....... Where is the best place to get clamshells in bulk for a good price? Where is a good place to get "different" tart molds. I love the fluted ones but I am looking for something a bit out of the ordinary. TIA! Amanda
  9. LOL, I just had a gremlin batch too. My wonderful smelling Blueberry Muffin soap is baby puke green and look HORRIBLE! I think I am going to hide it in the closet. Certainly can't sell it. We all have days like this....hang in there.
  10. Yup, yesterday was my day of doom too, exploding bath bombs, soap that siezed while mixing in color for a swirl (2 different containers) and then in the pot as well and a seeping FO. Ugh, makes me not even want to try again today. And I am trying to get my site up and running and getting a major headache. I think it is time to relax in the tub and not worry anymore.. Hugs! Amanda
  11. They look great! One word of advice, don't keep them in a ziplock bag closed. I did that with all of my bombs, that were completely hardened and the one bag puffed up and all the bombs exploded! I still don't know why they did that. I need to figure this out, obviously I am not selling bombs for a while.
  12. It was a log mold, I swirled in the pot. Thanks everyone!!!!
  13. Wow, that is fabulous! Great job!!!!
  14. Here is my latest swirled soap. Scented with White Peach (swirls were going to be green, but I grabbed the wrong color, oh well). I finally got the swirling down I think. I was worried about this one cause it set up FAST and was really thick when I poured it, but it turned out great if I do say so myself. Also here are some bath bombs that I made, I finally got my recipe right I think. Purple ones are scented with the J&J Soothing Lavender bath dupe and the pink ones are a Pink Sugar Dupe. Thanks for looking!
  15. Oooh thanks Robin, sorry I must have missed that part. LOL! Amanda
  16. Thanks for the sites. Anyone else have any other suggestions.
  17. Here is my first "natural" soap, no FO or artificial colorings. Just ground oatmeal, cinnamon and fresh orange blossom honey from here in FL. It smells wonderful and looks like slabs of pumpkin pie! LOL! It is very soft though, I hope it hardens up. Thanks for looking! Amanda
  18. Great job on the swirl, looks beautiful!!! Amanda
  19. Hey everyone, I have a couple of questions and would love some help. First could you recommend a good lotion base? I have tried one that can be a body butter or lotion and it was okay, but not as moisturizing as I would like. I think it would be more cost efficient for me to use a premade base at this stage in the game. Second, can you recommend a supplier for packaging? Thirdly, can you recommend a website hosting company for an online store? I have already learned so much from here and I thank you all! Amanda
  20. They look great! I am going to be making some of those myself this week.
  21. I use a 2 cup Pyrex as well. Works great!
