New here and first CP & CPHP soap photos!

Hi everyone! I am a new soaper and just found this site.

I wanted to post photos of my first soaps to get some input.

First one is my first CP soap, scented with Love Spell and swirled with Blue Mica. It turned very purple (wasn't expecting that, is it normal?) and is STRONG, I hope the scent fades a bit.

My second soap is my first CPHP soap, it is scented with Warm Vanilla Sugar and is colored with some pink M&P dye I had. I think I might have cooked this too long, not sure what the white spots are, I think it is okay though.

This site is great and I am getting tons of ideas. Keep up the good work!!!

Looks good Amanda. Lye can do very strange things to colors in CP. As for the white spots, did you perhaps use palm? They look like they could be stearic that either was not melted all the way are hardened back up if it got too cool.

Welcome! Very nice looking soaps!

Blues will turn to purple if they're made with FD&C colors, it's a pH thing. Could be your mica was colored that way.

In the pink, I did use Palm oil and PKF too.

I don't think I will be doing a HP again though, I really like the look of CP better!
