wicken
I need to find someone to cover me for 1 million in order to get a large chain store to carry my products. Does anyone know who carries this high of coverage? Thanks!!!
lindsaycb
I believe that's a standard policy to start with. If you do some searching its been a very well discussed topic.

ScentsandMore
Here is the link from the Soap Makers Guild. It says it covers soaps, all cosmetic items (as defined by the FDA) and candles: http://www.soapguild.org/insurance.phpSounds pretty reasonable. Good luck.I just noticed that it says you have to make soap to be able to purchase this insurance. Here is what it says:What if I only make candles or cosmetics and not soap?Well, this IS the Handcrafted SOAP Makers Guild. To qualify for membership you must make and sell handcrafted soap. It doesn't have to be any particular percentage of your total revenue, just so long as it is somewhere in your product line. Remember, however, that the other benefits of HSMG membership are geared towards soap making. If you don't make soap and don't want to add it to your product line, you could check the Handmade Beauty Network which also offers the insurance but has different membership criteria and benefits that might better suit you. wicken
Hi !Thanks for the info, I currently am covered for 500,000. I live in Pa. Also, does anyone know what you need to do to make UPC #s for all your products?
clonefan80
Just google UPC Codes and do some research but before you drop the bucks for codes ask the store if they have or use their own UPC codes. Sometimes they will use their own inhouse UPC codes and will give you a code to use.
