Solas's Tiramisu

Recommended Posts

This is absolutely yummy and the 1 oz sample that I got was more than enough for my 35 oz of oil. OOB it smells just like coffee. Then when you pour it into the batch it changes to a smell sort of like old musty clothes from last winter being dragged down from the attic. Dh walked in after work last night with a grossed out look on his face saying "what's that funky smell?" I was thinking to myself "oh no...."

BUt then this morning I took it out of the oven, and OMG, smells just like it's namesake!! Looks just like the dessert too. I am waiting a few days to cut it for when my 26" blade gets here so that I can get perfect bars. MY new recipe that I was trying out rocks too! Nice hard soap, nice and silky. I got these mylar sheets online for $2.77 each for a 4' x 3' piece. Bought 5, and 1.5 sheets was more than enough to line all my molds. Mylar really adds a shiny look to the soap too.

Well, here it is. The bottom is the natural color that my batch turned after adding the fragrance, there is a thin layer in the middle colored with brown oxide, then another base layer, and finally thin layer of brown oxide on top.
