Tammie
I made a batch of cp last night and cut it today. Does it take a little while for it to harden? I have it on a bakers rack hoping the air will make it harden up some.
Teercreations
Got a picture? It would depend on the recipe you used and how much water/lye was used in order to answer your question properly. If you were able to cut it though and it not deform the soap it was hard enough to cut. CP soap requires 4 to 5 weeks some up to 10 weeks if its a castile soap to completely cure and make a hard bar. RobinInOR
Hi Tammie! Some soaps can be softer than others. It really does harden up quite a bit over time. Eventually you want it hard enough so you can't dent it with your finger. The harder the bar, the longer it lasts
Lorrie
It took my castille soap about 12 weeks to harder up. If you are using a recipe that has alot of soft oils in it, it will be softer.
Fairy_Light
Hey Tammie... not sure what recipe you used and what not so this might not be the answer. Most of the time atleast with my experiences with cp soap is that the longer you let it sit out unwrapped (cure) and on a shelf the harder it gets. I've often had people tell me my soap lasts longer when it has been cured longer. Normally the next day it will be starting to get harder but it takes quite some time for it to completely harden.
