Henryk
Do most of you pie makers bother with bottom crusts? Is so, does it depend on the size, "fruit", or if the top crust is fancy or not?Guess I'm asking, what is the "gel pie etiquette" in this regard? Thanks! Luci
If I am using a "top" crust such as a lattice or woven, I do not use a "bottom" crust. Sometimes I use the full bottom crust if I am making a pecan pie or other type "open-face" pie.

jazzbo848
i never use a bottom crust because i use a lot of fruit, or a crumb topping or wax cutouts. even with a pecan pie, my pie top is covered with wax pecan embeds arranged in a circular pattern completely covering the top of the pie.cheryl
