Thought these might do well..whatcha think?

Recommended Posts

I've been going a little crazy painting and decoupagging (sp?). Thought these might do well in my retail outlets..whatcha think? I'm asking $9.99 for them and there's a dozen gingerbread tarts in the pot.

Ya know, I must've done wayyyy too many drugs in the 60's..I had them priced at $8.99...I just upped it to $11.99...I'm afraid to go any higher...btw..there's almost no painting on those at all..I just painted the top rim and saucer, then I used a taupe paint on the body of the pot..I speckled it by flinging white paint off a paint brush..but the gingerbread stuff is all fabric that all I did was cut out and decouppaged to the pot..pretty simple..I will be doing cans for christmas..if anyone wants them I do the same thing with christmas fabric..you're welcome to ship me some cans (I use any and all cans..vegetables, chili..everything) and I'll be happy to paint and decouppage them for ya..I use fabric and I have wonderful christmas transfers that I put on white cans that look like calligraphy..I usually list them on ebay but if anyone wants any, just send me the cans and I'll be happy to paint them for ya..all you'll have to do is melt your wax and wick..just pay shipping to and from and I'll be happy to help anyone. It relaxes me. I'm got some paint cans from Sherwin Williams and I've basecoated them white and I'm painting roses and violets and hydrangeas for my shabby chic customers..you guys have always been supportive of me..so I'll be happy to help any of ya out.

Those are great.

I can see many different uses for those. If they are sealed with decoupage on the inside and the saucer is glued the the bottom, you could make a container candle out of them, a small gift container, a floral arrangement etc.

Great work. How much would you sell them wholesale?

I don't wholesale them...I'm kind of a "when the spirit moves me kinda person"..I'm waiting to be scheduled for back surgery and painting, cutting fabric and slapping some decopaugge on them is not taxing..I probably will not make them again for another year..I pulled out one for myself and yes I filled it with wax..I just used plumber's putty to seal the hole..thanks though

Very cute! Nice job!

Just throwing my 2cents in...I sell my novelty shaped tarts at about $1.00 per oz..

Unless you're skimping a bit on the FO for these, I think you're undercharging. I guess with selling on E-bay you really need to be competitive with pricing, but I think the specialty shapes take a bit more time and effort and are worthy of a higher price. santa cool

I still use 1 1/2oz per pound of wax. for me whether I pour a tart pan or a gingerbread man it's still just pouring..I'll admit there's more wax in the Gingerbreads than a regular tart but I actually build my listing and selling fees into my shipping and slap a calculator on the auction page so there's no surprises. Candlemakers on ebay make a huge deal about charging actual shipping..I was selling Dior Purses and went with the rest of the pack on ebay and charged $15.00 to ship the purse..now I just build around $1.50 into my shipping charges..so far no complaints from customers...However, I'm also selling these locally at a couple of my outlets and they are selling for $19.99 so overall with ebay sales I've more than compensated with my actual costs. I couldn't survive on just my ebay auctions..sales are way down.
