LindaColo
I have been trying to color my bath bombs with food coloring and the bombs are ending up speckled. Is it because food coloring is water-based and my main liquid is safflower oil? Should I change my coloring method? I am in a mild panic mode because none of my bombs have turned out the way they should.Would mica, oxide or bath dye work better?
Funky Monkey
I've never had luck with coloring mine with food coloring. I do believe it is because of the water/oil not mixing. HTH
smart tart
I use food coloring all the time and have no problem with the color blending in - I use a pastry blender to mix my colors - Colors are not vivid or bright but nice nonetheless......When do you add your color? The timing might be part of your problem.
LindaColo
I add in my food color, safflower oil and then blend with a whisk. Also, tried adding the food coloring to the oil and then blending with a whisk. Haven't tried a pastry blender.

CareBear
I shake my oils and colorants and some of my other liquid (witch hazel or alcohol) in a small tupperware container with a super tight lid. Shake shake shake and then pour pretty fast while blending like mad with a whisk. Then I switch to my hands to finish it off or I don't know how much liquid I need to spritz in... RedRosie
Hi there. I just read recently that someone has sucess with the gel food colors much better than the liquid form. Just though I'd pass that along. I haven't tried that one yet myself, but hope to soon.
