jes432
Had to try my own variation of this one adding the chocolate once at light trace and swirling them. Just finished around 1am. Here are a couple pictures not yet cut. Also added some choc. FO. Chocolate Soap8 ounces shortening6 ounces coconut oil2 ounces olive oil(2.34 lye for 5% excess fat), (2.2 for 8% excess fat) ounces lye6 ounces water1/4 ounce unsweetened baking chocolate2 ounces white chocolateMelt fats, add chocolates. Mix lye and water. When fats and lye are 100 F stirred together, it looks curdled and separated. Blend it up and pour it out. Blender on low for 20 seconds. Pour out. Looks weird. Turns light then dark. Smells like Devil's Food Cake.

junebug
How does this react to the touch? Is this edible? I am sure it is not, but I think this soap would be a HOT Valentine's Day seller, as well as for X-mas.

jes432
Ok tried using it and I think mixing the baking chocolate with only 1/2 of the soap was just toooo much. It looks and smells great, but I get a slight brown color to my suds. Oh well...

candlenose
That was going to be my question about the suds turning brown. I made this years ago and the same thing happen to me. How much chocolate FO did you use?
jes432
FO was only a half ounce, but there is actual baking choc. in it that is what did it.

Kaybee23
It looks yummy. I did one similar to that and the brown ended up taking over most of the white and turned almost completely brown. It was still a pretty soap though.
