ChrisR
Daph's (Barn Loft) dyes are used and measured differently.....you cannot just add drops, you have to weigh it. I've been using her dyes since they came out and I get great black/black candles!! You aren't using enough if your candles aren't black. topofmurrayhill
So try 20 drops. If it causes any bad side effects once you have the color, you'll have to consider a different colorant or wick or whatever -- but there's no trick to getting black except adding enough dye. Soy needs the most because it's completely opaque and reflects light from the surface.
Carriegsxr6
I think more than 16 drops pp, is a waste of dye and a waste of time. try another dye.

junebug
Try adding dark blue for a more intense black, voilet would work too; I did that for hairdos anyways, FWIW>
