birdieluvr76
I only sell tarts and votives, and have my first show coming up. I am at a loss as far as how people are gonna smell my scents. I package my tarts in 3's and singles. What can I put out for people to smell so they can decide on what scents they want. The 3's cannot be opened, but the singles can (zip bag vs. polypro bag tied closed). My original thought was to pour a small amount in a tealight cup, and label the back. Then, I could store it in a bag when not in use to preserve the scent. Then, I thought of small baby food jars, but then realized that would be a LOT of jars. So, any thoughts?? sudsnwicks
Can you have one tart of each scent unwrapped so people can use it as the 'tester'?
pennipom@yahoo.com
I have seen people put the sample tarts in the small 4 oz candles tins with the scent listed on top so they could just open it and smell the scent. HTH
birdieluvr76
Can you have one tart of each scent unwrapped so people can use it as the 'tester'?I was thinking this too, but was worried with people touching then all and the scents getting mixed. I know I would not was a lemongrass-pumpkin pie-juniper-peach scent
sudsnwicks
Well if you put them all in a basket jumbled up, I suppose the scents might get mixed. How about placing them separately on a tray so that they are not touching.
birdieluvr76
I'm worried about one person touching one, and then another, and passing the scent from one tart to the other with their hands. Sorry I was not clear.
sudsnwicks
I don't really think the scent can be transferred by touch, but if I were you, I would do a little experiment with 5 or 6 tarts, transferring them from hand to hand to see if the scents eventually get mixed. SilverOrchid
Can you get ahold of some aroma beads and mix a drop or two of the FO in a zip lock and label the front with which scent? Set the baggie next to each tart display? Just an idea Good luck!
KristinesShower
How many scents do you have total?
birdieluvr76
How many scents do you have total? It would be between 25 and
KristinesShower
Maybe you can splurge a little to find 25-30 little cute containers that you can pour some scent into and cap them with a label on top. WSP usually has glass jars for surplus and since you will be just using them for smelling, I don't think they have to be burnable or anything like that. Besides you don't want to put a wick in there anyway - then people will want to buy THEM lol

schmoopie
Or even those containers with the holes in them that they use in italian restaurants for the parmesan and crushed red pepper(not the big ones some are using for bakery candles), with a couple tarts crumbled up inside them.....and a few with coffeebeans for in between sniffs. Would be cute, cheap, re-usable.........could try a restaurant supply store, either locally or online........
CountryGal
I have a bunch of the small glass vials and I put a bit of FO on a cotton ball and put the cotton ball in the vial and then put a label on it and have them in a wooden crate/bin thing that my dh made me. Works great, scents dont mix either.
