moniek Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Hello! I was wanting to try to dip some bears. What type of wax do I use? Can it be any stuff animal, any size? Thanks for all the info! Quote
pdevine Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I use either a pillar, votive or embed wax to dip mine. You definitely want a harder wax, not container. I have even used hurricane wax to dip. As far as the size, it doesn't matter what size animal you dip, works just like a large one. HTH Portia Quote
candlebean Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Some animals are better than others - a lot of candle supply companies sell plush animals for dipping - JMO, but I think it would be better to stick with those over something you might find at the dollar store or something. I know a lot of people say to use a harder wax, but I'm a black sheep and use 100% soy wax flakes - they are awesome and I'll never use anything else. I get my flakes from the wax teddy bear company. moniek Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 Do you dip the bear one time or several? Quote
Doneen Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 You only dip them once, then squeeze out the excess wax (wearing heavy duty lined rubber gloves). Here are complete detailed instructions & tips to give you a starting point:http://www.candlesupply.com/how2dipbears.htmlHTH! Quote
