heather_dw
I already have olive oil soap for sensitive skin types, but wanted to do something else. I heard honey was a good choice and makes a nice brown soap.I took my regular recipe of soy shortening/coconut and added 1 tbl of honey per pound of oils. I added the honey to the melted oils and stick blended it and then added the lye to it because I wanted to make sure that honey was incorporated well. The "batter" turned orange, it weirded me out, not what I was expecting but here are the cut pics. I don't really notice a honey smell but it is a little sticky but not bad at all. Is this what honey soap is supposed to look like freshly cut? Carriegsxr6
i would give it a week before it turns really brown and the stickiness goes away. great job though, doesnt look like it overheated at all.
