Shamrock
Can any body give me some advice on getting black instead of deep purple?
Scented
Since black is all colors, add different colors to it (except stay away from purple and probably the blue). So put some green and brown and red in there and see if that helps you out.
Shamrock
Thanks I will try that I am using black dye chips but they are turning out dark purple so I will put some of those colors in and see what happens.
CandleCouture
It is definately possible. Archipelago Botanicals has a candle called "Stonehenge" that is black.
Scented
Sham if it's any consolation, I had trouble getting a deep black with the chips. Not so much with blocks and, of course, liquid. But you should be able to get rid of that purple.
Aspencreek
I use Peak's black liquid dye and it turns out a nice deep black.
ChrisR
I use the Pryme dyes (http://www.barnloftcandles.com/soy_dyes.html) True black every time without compromising the wicking!!
grandmaskitchen
I find that dye chips will give me a purple color, so I use black liquid dye to give me darker colors. It works a whole lot better!
