snow
A friend of mine wants to make and sell electric candles using a votive wax and a 3 watt bulb, is that safe? Shouldn't she use a higher melting wax or not. I was told to use the 5055 wax for photo hurricanes just to be safe that it won't melt. What do you think? Thanks, Dee
Candlelovr
You need a high mp wax to make hurricanes. Im not sure which votive wax you are speaking of or what the mp is but it needs to be at least 150 mp and I dont know of any votive waxes that have a high mp like that so I would not advise using it. Donita
I see no reason to take chances. The only wax I will use for my electric candles is 5055 hurricane. Donita
Kaybee23
I have heard people successfully make these also with the KY143 wax. When I played around with these, I couldn't get a 3 watt bulb to get it warm enough on the inside to get a good scent off of them, I had to use a 5 watt. I also had luck using the 1343 with a little microcrystalline in it.
