Elyse
We're taking a cross country trip this spring along the south, and I'm really looking forward to stopping along the way to visit suppliers and sniff oils, etc. I've noticed that there sure are alot in Texas! I've written a few down that I know of that have shops/showrooms (ie. BCS, Taylored Concepts). But where would you all recommend I stop? Kaybee23
Taylored Concepts, and AAA Candle Supply are in the same general area in Dallas. Lonestar Candle Supply is in Keller, which is about an hour drive west of the other 2 mentioned above. Greenleaf is in Grand Prairie. So there is 4 that are in pretty close range of each other, in the DFW area.p.s. Bittercreeksouth does not have a retail store, nor do they take walk in orders, according to their website. But if you know what you want and place your order by phone ahead of time, they will allow you to pick up. Greenleaf has a showroom, as does Lonestar and Taylored Concepts and you can order stuff on the spot and take it with you. Not sure about AAA, have never been there. sockmonkey
What state will you be traveling from?
Elyse
We'll be heading out from California, and going all the way to Florida. I have no doubt I'll be suffering chandler withdrawls, and will need at least a few FO fixes along the way! It's pathetic, but I'm negotiating with my husband re: what I can pack to make a few pillars while we're on the road. It's a hopeless situation. I'll for sure be taking some testers with me to burn. bugtussle
Triple A has a showroom as does BCS. BCS just doesn't really advertise it. You will enjoy a trip to Taylored. They have a fantastic showroom as does Lone Star. I love to go to the DFW area.
Elyse
Thanks for the replies! Are there any more outside of Texas to visit?
Michi
Oh go to DayStar (if Stacy has a showroom, not sure), I'd love to be able to go there and sniff up all her FO's. She's in Texas also. Not sure where else you'll be stopping or what states you'll be going through??
Elyse
Kaybee, I guess I was confused by the BCS website, because they say they welcome you to sniff Fo's while you're there.. but going back, you're right, they say that they don't have a storefront... I'm not sure how I got that in my head. Thanks for the heads up! I probably would of headed that way, only to be disappointed! We'll be travelling along all the southernmost states. Might swing up a bit, because I want to see Tennessee. My, texas seems to be the state for candlemaking!
Alajane
After you swing through Tennessee, there's a good chance you'll be on I-65S all the way through Alabama and down to Florida. Alabaster Candle Supply is in Jemison (AL), just about 4 miles off I-65. They don't have what I would really call a showroom, but they do have 1-oz samples of all their fragrances on display, along with samples of all their glassware--so maybe it's a showroom after all!!!HTH,Jane

Vernon, KY, Kentucky Candle Wax has a store front.
