scntdwik
I have just poured a new batch that I just received of soy and when its cured it is swirly on top. What is causing this?
mystical_angel1219
Are they swirly lines, or actual swirls of the wax?Its the cooling/curing process combined with the natural aspects of soy.I can give u a better definition if u post a pic. candelecandlecompany
What kind of soy are you using? maybe it is your fo....not sure. When I used a specific type of soy wax mine kinda did that. I changed waxes and mine are fine now.
scntdwik
I am using a one pour, pure container soy...They look like actual swirls in the wax instead of a consistent smooth top with the color intended to be.I am pouring the wax when it is like a thick slush which seems to be really messy but if I pour when its thinner it seems to leave little crystal things in the top... Vicky_CO
You are actually pouring a bit to cool. Pour a little hotter you can always hit the top with a heat gun to smooth it out
scntdwik
Manufacturer says to pour at 90-100 when it is the consistency of a thick slush. What would you suggest?
scntdwik
Ok...I poured warmer and its now got a funny texture on the top and a little bit of a sink hole!Had no idea soy had sink holes!

Crafty1_AJ
I use an embossing gun I got at a craft store -- Michael's, I believe. I use it for embossing when I make handmade cards. Works well for shrinkwrapping and zapping rebellious candles back into submission as well.
